The Great Global Warming Swindle – 2.

it's getting too hot in here!

Rumour has it that a server somewhere in Hong Kong blew up recently under the strain of ‘swindle’ traffic swarming the globe. The internet firestorm created by the Channel 4 programme has been phenomenal.

‘The Great Global Warming Swindle’ was designed by the producers to get people talking about climate change. And they have done a fine job! Although the producer has now admitted they got their graphs wrong. Oh, and one of their main experts quoted on the programme has now realised he was duped by the producers; expert misled. Never mind, the conversation continues;

For those people that always wanted to believe Global Warming was a hoax teleport yourself to cowboy country.

For those people who have always believed in Global Warming pogo stick yourself over to George’s place for a cuppa.

For the majority of us who simply want to keep up to date with what’s happening with the climate go to
realclimate.org
.

And for those that don’t care at all …… get the chimp’s reaction.

Whatever you do, remember …. don’t stare at the sun. It might just glare back at you.

    Oh, it goes far beyond that. It’s a movement to bring us all into one world socialist order, and it won’t be a democratic one. All for our own good, of course.

    the Grit

  2. Pete Smith says:

    Sounds good. Always thought democracy was greatly over-rated myself. As George Bernard Shaw said, it’s a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. And when I see the hideous crimes the US and its running dogs are committing around the world in the name of democracy, I do believe we might well be better off without, ta very much.

    Yup, we’ll all be marching to the chopstick rhythm.

    Great to see you optimistic as ever Grit. 😉

    Temperatures as high as 19C here in the UK this week. Next week it’s snow. That’s a 20C swing. Go figure.

    Needless to say folk are a tad confused. An attack on their democratic freedoms couldn’t be further from their minds right now.

    Typical Channel 4 stuff. They just love controversy. Stuff the facts. It’s what gets in the viewers.

    What worries me is how ready people were to believe it, as if it was all the excuse they needed to stop making the effort.

    Not half as confused as all the wildlife emerging blinking from hibernation, only to find that there’s no food available because some bugger’s dumped snow all over it. No comfort to them that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has confirmed that, globally, this is the warmest winter since records began in 1880. Will they freeze or starve?

    Marcus Brigstocke in great form on “The Now Show” on BBC Radio 4 tonight. For a fine, foul-mouthed demolition of Channel 4, that oik Durkin and anyone who thinks there’s anything to gain from conning the world about global warming, listen again to the show at
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/comedy/nowshow.shtml
    Or you can download or podcast (whatever that is)
    Warning: this may not work outside the UK, but it’s hard for me to say definitely as I’m inside the UK, and can’t justify travelling to France just to test it.

  7. Crapstats says:

    Regarding the Independents claim about the graphics – I found the same graph on a NASA site – see link- have you got the one which they admitted was wrong?

  8. matt says:

    Pete, I heard it too. It was excellent. The bit I really liked was the joke about the carbon neutral students;

    ‘They watch a lot of TV these students but, they off-set this by not washing their clothes or bothering to shower’

    🙂

    Crapstats, Took a look at your website. You’re a brave person taking on the graphs. I leave this to the ‘experts’.

  9. Some interesting comments here!

    Getting back to the ‘swindle’ movie itself, some of you may find the following
    posts of interest – here, here,
    and here.

    Thanks Craig. My m-in-law thought the GGWS was plausible. I told her that the programme had since been discredited. ‘Oh’, she said. The conversation then moved on to her listing what she does for the environment. Sweet.
